JH Mission Trip – Cincinnati 0
This past Monday 0ur JH (Junior High) students left River Oaks to go on a mission trip to Cincinnati. By the way, this is the first time in 4 years that I’m not leading this trip (thanks to our JH Pastor Dave Boehner), but I still get to be a part of it. I arrived in Cincinnati last night with Karissa and the kids. In about 30 minutes or so I’m going to meet up with the students and serve with them. I’m pretty excited to hear how things are going and want to get a few of them to share some stories with you. So stay tuned.
Beyond serving with them, one of the main reasons I came to Cincinnati is because I’m going to take all the new 9th graders out to dinner and begin talking to them about the next 4 years. I want to challenge them to use these very important years of their lives wisely. I want to challenge them to intentionally Go to the Lost, Grow in their Faith, and Show Compassion to the Poor. One of the cool things about this Cincinnati trip is that they’re actually doing all three. They’re interacting with serving lost people each day…throughout this experience they’re being challenged to grow in their faith and to think about why they’re doing what they’re doing…they’re also showing compassion to the poor – as to this one, I’ll let them share how in a blog later today.
So yeah – keep our JH students in your prayers.
Thanks!
T
