Series: AM I HAPPY (week 4 of 4) – March 28, 2010
Fun/Funny:
This past Sunday night I surprised all of the high school students by buying Papa John’s pizza for everyone. Yeah it was gooooooood!!! Not much is better than free pizza.
Overview:
This past Sunday we concluded our series by talking about finding happiness in God despirt circumstances – no matter the problem! Is that even possible? Can someone find happiness in God when their friend commits suicide? What about when someone’s dad dies? What about when a teenager comes down with cancer? (more…)

This past Sunday I showed the students a couple pictures of me. The first one is from when I was 18 – trying to look cool, and the second one was about a year and a half later when I was 19 - I grew out my hair & beard while I studied in Israel for a semester.

Fun/Funny:
This past Sunday we introduced our new monthly “crazy announcements” section with “Sundae Announcements with Megan and Haley.” Basically they made sundae’s on each other’s head as they gave announcements (whipped cream, chocolate and caramel sauce, cookies, sprinkles, etc). Yeah it was pretty funny. I’ll put up a video soon.
Overview:
Can our accomplishements or successes bring us happiness? Will getting all A’s on a report card? Will excelling in sports?
Notes:
We spent some time looking at two different people from the Bible and how they viewed success.
The first person was the Apostle Paul – prior to putting his faith in Jesus his view of success was all about the things he did (Philippians 3:4-6). (more…)
